- How does student representation work at UM? -

Dutch law requires all Dutch universities to integrate students in supervisory and participatory control gremia for faculties and the university as a whole. Therefore, there exists a uniwide University Council and all faculties have a faculty council, composed of students as well as support and academic staff. The councils evaluate all proposals of the top management and have the right to advice on and partially veto certain proposals. The student factions are elected each year in an uniwide election. All student have the right to vote and to nominate themselves for faculty or university council positions.
